We’re a family-owned business and our focus is personalized customer service to ensure the best outdoor space solutions for our clients.
With a background in business roles and a passion for working in the outdoor home improvement industry, husband and wife team Jason and Micaela Young started Stretch Canvas more than 10 years ago.
Our team has more than 20 years’ experience delivering canvas, awning and shade solutions to improve outdoor spaces. We use top quality guaranteed products and, through New Zealand’s big suppliers, we have access to a large range of products, materials and fittings.

Stretch Canvas has its own manufacturing operation, so is able to provide awnings and shade solutions specifically designed for your property, along with its range of high quality products.
Stretch Canvas supplies and manufactures outdoor shade and shelter solutions for all types of properties including new builds, and existing deck and courtyard areas. No outdoor space challenge is too big or small and with our personalized service you can trust that your job will be completed to the highest standards and meets building compliance requirements.
“I love to entertain and to have a nice outdoor area at home myself, so I get as excited as my clients when I visit their property and see what they are trying to achieve with their outdoor area,” says Jason. “Most kiwis like outdoor living. If the sun is shining they want to be putting on a barbecue and having a wine or a beer. What we do is help them create a space they can use year-round and where they can open up the sides in summer and close them down in winter.”
